Swansea City are set to land USA forward Jordan Morris in one of the biggest transfer coups of the January window.
The Championship club are poised to beat Bundesliga clubs including Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen to land the 26-year-old after competing with Fiorentina in Italy for the Seattle Sounders winger.
He is set to be part of Steve Cooper's squad at the Liberty Stadium for the rest of the campaign, with the former England Under-17 manager and his recruitment team pushing for Morris to be one of the main targets in the window and believing he would fit into the team's style of play.

Demnach stehen die Chancen für einen Wechsel des Linksaußen von den Seattle Sounders in die Bundesliga allerdings nicht gut. Der Gold-Cup-Sieger 2017 stehe stattdessen vor einem Wechsel zu Swansea City.

The Bundesliga options offer a better playing level, however, it is unclear if those are loan options or permanent deals. Playing time would also be harder to come by, as the level increases. Additionally, Wolfsburg is known for playing a complex system that takes time to learn and Leverkusen has good wingers already. However, with both Wolfsburg and Leverkusen in the fight for European spots domestically, and Leverkusen are in the Europa League knockout rounds, should Morris be able to make an impact there, it would provide him security in his National Team spot. One of the obvious additional considerations with the Bundesliga is the language barrier. Settling in with the team may take longer as a result.

Eine der offensichtlichen zusätzlichen Überlegungen bei der Bundesliga ist die Sprachbarriere. Das Eingewöhnen in das Team kann daher länger dauern.

Er ist grundsätzlich schon einer der "älteren" Spieler aus den USA die ich gerne mal in Europa sehen würde. Die Verbindung zu Deutschland besteht ja glaube ich auch. Mit 18 oder 19 Jahren war er schon einmal kurz davor bei Werder zu unterschreiben. Damals wollte er aber noch nicht weg von der Familie und gewohnten Umgebung.

Ich kenne ihn noch gut vom Probetraining damals bei uns. Da war er 6-7 Jahre jünger. Schon da sah man eine hohe Veranlagung bei ihm nur leider wollte er seine Karriere in den USA starten (auch weil man drohte ihm bei einem Auslandswechsel die Nationalmannschaft vorzuenthalten).
Seitdem hab ich aber gar nichts mehr von ihm gehört oder gesehen. Er scheint sich aber ganz ordentlich gemacht zu haben...

Ein Flügelspieler, besser gesagt ein Linksaußen der mit seinem starken rechten Fuß nach innen zieht und Torgefahr ausstrahlt wird hier in Wolfsburg dringend gesucht. Die Zahlen aus der MLS sehen gut aus. Klar ist die MLS keine Bundesliga aber die Anlagen zu einem ordentliche Bundesliga Spieler scheinen vorhanden.
Mit 26 Jahren im besten Alter. Spiele genug wird er hier bekommen, davon bin ich überzeugt.
