Real Sociedad sign top talent Cho - Among the most expensive deal in club history

Real Sociedad have signed talented forward Mohamed-Ali Cho from SCO Angers. The LaLiga club introduced the 18-year-old forward on Wednesday night. Cho has signed a contract until 2027 at the San Sebastian-based club. The transfer fee is initially €11 million but can grow to €15 million if certain performance-based metrics are met. 

Cho, who was featured by Transfermarkt as part of the 2021 talents calendar is now among the most expensive departure at Angers and the most expensive signing at Real Sociedad. Only four players rank ahead at both La Real and Angers. In the spring, the Ligue 1 club reportedly wanted at least €20 million for the forward. Cho is currently the most valuable striker born in 2004—together with Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko. 

Cho, who played in PSG's and Everton's academies has been linked with a transfer for months. In 2019 he visited Bayern Munich's academy and stood out during a trial at the Campus. The Rekordmeister, however, opted against signing the forward because of Angers' demands in the region of €7 million to €8 million. Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were also linked to the forward. Cho managed four goals in 32 games for the Ligue 1 side last season.
